The suction is less powerful than our top picks, but it's still able to do the job. It also comes with a huge dirt bin and a battery which lasts for more than an hour. The app lets you schedule your daily cleaning or choose a specific room. It's also possible to create a map of your home, which can help the device avoid areas that you don't want to go to. The app is simple to use and has a clear layout. It doesn't come with any advanced features, but it's straightforward enough to use and allows you to track the status of your robot. The i7 also feels more durable, is more robust and requires less maintenance. It has lower recurring costs, charges faster and has comparable battery performance. It also comes with more advanced automation features, such as no-go zones and the ability to choose specific rooms to be cleaned. iRobot J7+ This robot vacuum and mop combination is a rare find that does both jobs well. IRobot's Combo J7+ comes with all the features of its j7 counterpart including LiDAR mapping and self-emptying, but with additional features for both mopping and vacuuming. The j7+ makes use of the latest acoustic sensor technology to detect the type of floor, so that it can mop or vacuum the room in its first attempt. This information can also be used to determine the best cleaning options for rooms with carpets or rugs versus those with hard flooring. Like many robotic vacuums, the j7+ is quiet while it's running. It's even less noisy when it's mopping. The maximum reading on our decibel meter was 64db which is comparable to the background noise of office chatter.
